East Coast Maritime was called upon to conduct the sensitive salvage of a fishing trawler that ran aground on Cockatoo Reef.
The salvage was executed using a combination of plant and equipment including our long reach excavator, utility vessel ‘Pacific Conquest‘, and flat top barge ‘WB3‘.
Pollutant risks were successfully managed through our comprehensive salvage plan, with ECM maintaining daily contact with the relevant maritime authorities. A final inspection of the seabed was conducted by our in-house divers prior to transfer of salvaged materials to be disposed of at an authorised waste facility in Gladstone.
